Q: Are your shows touring shows?
A: No, Carousel produces their own shows, right here in Akron, Ohio and they are equal to or exceed any touring production in our area.

Q: Is Carousel an Equity theatre?
A: Carousel is the largest of any professional Equity Union theatres in Ohio, and one of the premiere Equity theatres in the region.

Q: Where do you get your actors?
A: We cast professional Equity actors from New York and across the United States. Most shows feature a mix of leading Equity roles and non-equity supporting and chorus or ensemble roles. When the cast size exceeds a certain number and when other factors are considered, we will cast locally

Q: How do you pick your shows?
A: Choosing shows for each new season begins almost two to three years ahead of time. It depends on what shows are being offered by licensing companies, what other theaters in our region have requested or have those shows booked and what we feel will be the best productions for our Carousel audiences. We are committed to bringing new productions, sometimes leading edge but balanced with the true and tested musicals. We also send out random individual and Current Carousel Subscriber surveys for feedback.

Q: Is your food prepared on site?
A: Carousel employs an accomplished Certified Executive Chef and a full restaurant kitchen staff of thirty three individuals plus a service staff of over seventy. All meals are served sit down in our dining room.

Q: Do you have a dress code?
A: The dress code is considered ‘business casual.’ We suggest dress shirts or sweaters and dress pants for men; dresses, skirts or pant suits for women. As always, you may dress as formal as you like for any occasion. Please no ball caps, t-shirts, tennis shoes, jeans, shorts, jogging suits or workout gear.
